Obituary

At the age of 19, Austin Tyler Ross of Van Vleck took his final breath Sunday, November 16th, 2025. He made his grand entrance to this world Friday, January 13th, 2006, in Victoria, Texas, to Tony Lee Ross and Tiffany Marie Meador Ross.

To put Austin in a paragraph is to not know him at all.

From day one Austin was that happy go with the flow soul that loved deep and laughed hard. His siblings would argue that "brotherly love" doesn't come close to encapsulating the bond between them. They were each other's rock, confidant, partner in crime, and best friend.

His Mom once said raising Austin was "like riding a roller coaster… still and quiet with anticipation of what's to come then heart pounding excitement while holding on for dear life"! And it truly was. We gave baseball a go in elementary and quickly realized that we'd be trading that ball and glove in for terrariums to house the tiny creatures that caught his attention in the outfield. Then over the years that intrigue grew into a deep love and understanding of all things beautiful. From sunsets and beautiful vistas to horses and his pupper dogs, he loved it all.

Watching him grow up was to have a constant reminder of the beauty of this world. He truly found joy in the majesty of God's great creation.

But trying to keep up with him was like trying to rope the wind. Because he was so passionate and so smart, he spent a lot of time teaching and explaining the world to us through his lenses. He loved nature but the science of it captivated him. He knew how to do so many things, but he didn't just learn enough to get the task accomplished, he mastered it. He was a talented musician, he created an AI programmed BOT for trading stocks, and he was known as "the barefoot carpenter". He could literally grow anything, but he was most proud of the mushrooms he grew from spores in the lab all the way to cooking them for us at dinner. He was an endeared part of the BayCel Federal Credit Union team, as well as "family" to staff and patrons of Baytown Restaurant in Van Vleck.

As much as he loved his hobbies it didn't hold a candle to how deeply he loved his family. He would tell you shooting skeet, ski trips, and traveling are some of his favorite memories, but he'd also be quick to say that it was the little things he loved the most. Playing games with the whole family, Monday night dinners, beach days, and hanging out laughing, playing cornhole with some good songs on the speaker were the things that he genuinely loved to spend time doing, because his friends and family were everything to him.

He was preceded in death by his "Pop", maternal grandfather, Otha Chester (Sonny) Meador Jr.

Loved ones left behind include: his parents, Tony and Tiffany Ross. Sisters, Taylor Ross Nesom and Gracelyn Ross. Brothers, Camden Ross, Joshua Ross, Braylen Ross; and brother-in-law, Tyler Nesom. Significant other, Payge Ashley White. Maternal grandparents, Patty and Allen Sarles, and Lori Meador. Paternal grandparents, Stephen "Steve" Ross, and Kelly Blackmon. Paternal great-grandfather, Donald "Don" Ross. As well as aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to list here.

The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Harvest Time Church, Bay City, TX. Memorial Services will begin at 2:00 pm with Donald Reed officiating.
