Obituary

Arthur Charles Eidlebach, Sr., 86, of Bay City, TX, peacefully made his way to heaven on April 19, 2022. He was born January 3, 1936 in Bay City, TX, to the late William John Henry Eidlebach and Pauline Mary Gest Eidlebach.

Arthur became active in the Army at the age of 19, and served as a AAA Gun Crewman. During this time he was based in Chicago, IL, where he met the love of his life, Carmeline Di Carlo, whom he married in 1956. Arthur and Carm lived and raised a family in Bay City, and would have been married for 66 years on May 19. He spent many years working at Gernand Builders Supply and could build anything you asked him to. Arthur also loved to help his son Charlie at the field farming. He had a love for his cattle and always looked forward to helping his grandkids with their animals for the county livestock show. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman, who passed on his passions to his kids and grandkids. He was a huge sports fan when it came to watching his grandkids. Arthur was known and loved throughout his small-town community. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, papa and friend. He was also loved very much by his dog and best friend, Lily.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sisters Catherine, Isabelle, Evelyn, Virginia, Joyce and Mary Helen; brothers Earl, Burris, Ross, an infant, and siblings: Gertrude, Carroll, Beulah, Eugene, Wilma and Emmie Lee. He is survived by children Charlie Eidlebach (Lindy), Donna Eidlebach, and William Eidlebach (Kellee), and grandchildren Madeline Eidlebach, Hannah Eidlebach, Caleb Eidlebach, Haley Eidlebach and Emilee Eidlebach.

The family will receive friends and loved ones 1:00 pm Saturday April 23, 2022 at Nichols Street Church of Christ in Bay City. Services will begin at 2:00 pm with Nina Klingaman officiating. Graveside service will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers are Woodie Gernand, Ross Eidlebach, Jr., Jimmy Guy Fortenberry, Gene Eidlebach, Earl "Buster" Eidlebach, and Blake Davis. Honorary pallbearers are his grandson Caleb Eidlebach stationed at Camp Casey in South Korea, Tom Rodgers, Mike Mariner, Tony Nemec, Jim Woracheck, Raymond "Butch" Sneath and Butch Klingaman.
