A. R. "Tony" Whiddon was born October 18, 1947 in Bay City to Roger and Virginia Moore Whiddon and died March 18, 2006 in Bay City. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Sons of the Republic of Texas.

He is survived by Bobbye Taylor of Bay City, mother Virginia Whiddon of Bay City, father Roger Whiddon of Decatur , two sons Joe Whiddon and Ethan Whiddon both of Dallas, two sisters and brothers-in-law Susan and Roland Martin of Dallas and Debra and John Burns of Arlington, one brother and sister-in-law Steve and Poppy Whiddon of Dallas and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Pauline Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers include John C. Dickerson III, Jack Conner, Richard Knapik, Charles Townsend, Doug Huebner and Lee Hearn. The employees of Texas Boll Weevil Eradication Foundation will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Bay City Library, Matagorda County Museum, or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. 979-245-4613
