Antonio "Tony" Gonzalez, Jr, 84, of Palacios, TX, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009. He was born May 14, 1925 in Palacios, TX to Antonio Gonzales, Sr. and Natalia Gomez Gonzales. He was a lifelong resident of Palacios and was a retired Produce Manager from Wilson's Grocery in Palacios. He was active in the Senior Citizens Center of Palacios, directed entertainment at the Palacios Pavilion, and was very active in the Palacios community.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Natalia & Antonio Gonzales, Sr.; by his sisters: Felipa Sanchez, Marina Garcia and Natalia Gonzales; and by his brothers: Augustine Gonzales and Ralph Gonzales. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Bro. Roosevelt Ellis officiating. Interment will be at the Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Sanchez, Sr., Andrew Sanchez, Jr., Jasper Garcia, Sr., Jasper Garcia, Jr., Darrell Buckley and Raymond De La Rosa.
