ANTONETTE "NETTIE" MARY MAZOCH ZAPALAC

Markham - Nettie Zapalac, 91, of Markham has gone to be with our Lord.

Nettie was born to John and Barbara Mazoch on Sept. 18, 1915 in Borden, TX. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She passed away on December 5, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center in Port Lavaca, TX.

She was married to the late Steve Zapalac for 36 years. They lived on a farm near Midfield where they raised their 9 children.

Nettie enjoyed baking, canning, gardening, sewing, caring for animals, and life on the farm. She enjoyed caring for young children in her later years.
Nettie was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing, TX, a lifelong member of the KJZT (Catholic Fraternal of Texas), St. Peter's Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the America's, and the Midfield Home Demonstration Club.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Nelo Seaman of Palacios, Evelyn Skutca of Markham, Wyonna (Nona) and Marvin Hurta of Ashby, Annette and Richard Stolleis of Richmond, sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Jane Zapalac of Markham, Richard and Jo Ann Zapalac of New Braunfels, David and Barbara Zapalac of Markham, and Paul and DeeAnn Zapalac of Douglas, Wyoming. She is also survived by 23 grand children, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Bob Morris of Baytown, Joyce and Robby Muckleroy of Harper, brothers, Leonard Mazoch of Baytown, Albert Mazoch of Beaumont, and John and wife Mary Mazoch of Orange and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Steve Zapalac, Sr, son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and La Verne Zapalac, infant granddaughter, Jeanna Zapalac, grandson, Roy Seaman, parents John and Barbara Mazoch, brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Lillian Mazoch, sister-in-law, Martha Mazoch, sister and brother-in-law, Hattie and John Parick, sister-in-law, Molly Mazoch, and niece, Carol Sebum.

Pallbearers are all the grandsons: Garry, Larry, and Greg Seaman, Craig Skutca, Richard Zapalac, Ronnie Zapalac, Chad Hurta, Jason Jessup, Zachary Zapalac, Eric Zapalac, Dustin Zapalac, and Jeffery Zapalac.

Honorary pallbearers are the granddaughters: Lauri Ann Perrone, Jeanna L. Zapalac, Shanna Skutca, Kimberly Hurta, Juliane Zapalac, Lindsey Zapalac, Brina Zapalac, Chelsea Zapalac and Dannielle Zapalac.

Rosary will be at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing, TX on Thursday December 7, 2006 at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be at St. Peter's Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m., Friday December 8, 2006 with Father Sam Appiasi, Father Charles Dwomoh, and Father Dan Morales officiating. Burial will follow immediately at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing.
