Annie Ella Slone Adams, 89, of Bay City passed away April 30, 2010. She was born to Jessie Renfroe & Martha Beatrice Smith Slone on Jan. 30, 1921 at White Hall, a small settlement east of Ganado, Texas in Jackson County. She attended school in Bay City and worked in the Bay City Community for over 32 years, thirteen of those years as manager for Ace Stamp Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bay City and also the First Baptist Church in Matagorda, TX. She was a member of Baptist Temple, also known as Golden Ave. Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.
She is survived by daughter Martha Mae Lacy of Bay City; son Edward "Britches" & wife Lois Quinney of Markham; grandsons William Odie Milner & wife Kim of Bay City and Stephen Edward Quinney of Markham; granddaughters Suzan Milner Thompson of Bay City & Anna Marie Quinney Andrews of Markham; 7 great grandchildren Shelley Lynette Anderson & husband Jason of Midfield, "Bubba" Simons & wife Tara of Selkirk, Kyle Matthew Milner & Korey Elizabeth Milner both of Austin, Kaitlyn Diane Milner of Bay City, Joseph Edward Quinney of Markham & Ronald Wayne Andrews, Jr. of Markham; 5 great-great grandchildren Madison Ann Simons of Markham, Kinsley Rae Simons of Selkirk, Lacy Kathleen Anderson & Ryver Clay Anderson both of Midfield, and Emma Beyer of Markham.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6pm to 8pm Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 3, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverends Chester Sassman, Oliver Southall & Lane Pardue officiating. Interment will follow at the Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bubba Simons, Kyle Matthew Milner, Linwood Pickens, Larry Fitzpatrick, Thomas Russell Frieze & E. M. Huitt.
