Anna Lee Haring Walters, 80 of Bay City, passed away Saturday December 9, 2006 in Houston, TX. She was born November 5, 1926 in Bay City to Hubert A. and Martha Moll Verser. She was a lifelong resident of Bay City, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bay City and a charter member of the Junior Service League.
She retired as an elementary and special education teacher and was dearly loved by her former students. She loved the Christmas season and will always be remembered for her beautiful Christmas Trees.
She is survived by her husband: F.S. "Steve" Walters of Bay City; her son: Charles Lee Haring of Bellaire; her step-children and their spouses Steve & Lou Walters of Littleton, CO, Virginia & Bruce Fickman of Pittsburg, PA, and John & Eugenie Walters of Austin; her sisters: Martha Louise Breeden of Lake Jackson and Mary Nell Quartararo of Canyon Lake; by her daughter-in-law: Robin Haring of Bay City; her nieces and nephew: Faith Michaels, Larry Shaffer and Susan Breeden; and by nine grandchildren Zachary Ryan Haring and Robert Charles Haring both of Bay City, Emily Caroline Walters, Scott Michael Walters, & Melissa Beth Walters all of Littleton, CO, Jason Phillip Fickman, Erin Rachel Fickman, & Mark Andrew Fickman all of Pittsburg, PA & Sarah Doumax of Austin. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Charles Henry Haring; her son: Robert Arthur "Bob" Haring; and by her parents: Hubert & Martha Verser.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church of Bay City with Rev. John-Nelson Pope officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Honorary pallbearers include Richard Smith, Jack Huebner, Roy Anderson, Dub Cox and Bobby Breeden.
