Ann Clark Dannels passed away May 9, 2007 at Bay Villa Nursing Home in Bay City. Ann was born June 7, 1946 in Ada, Oklahoma to Mrs. Kathalene Tudor Clark. Ann moved to Palacios, Texas at six years of age with her mother and step-dad, Leon Smith. She completed high school there, then went to Texas Woman's University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She began work at Matagorda General Hospital in 1969. She then married Delbert Dannels on August 30, 1969. She worked 30 years at Matagorda General Hospital. One of her many jobs there was Night Supervisor. She and Del have two sons, David of Bay City and Dennis of Austin. There are two granddaughters, Elizabeth of Bay City and Melody of Austin all surviving. Also surviving is her step-dad, Leon Smith of Palacios, three sisters, Kathy & Bruce Shearin of Rocky Mount, NC, Margaret Smith of Palacios, and Terry & David Brooks of Victoria, and several nieces and nephews. Ann was a life long Christian. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Sweeny. Her life was a life of love for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing.
