Angelita Ramos Salinas, 100, of Palacios, Texas, passed away on March 19, 2026. She was born on June 25, 1925, in Las Rosita’s Ranch, Texas, to the late Toribio Ramos and Guadalupe Hernandez Ramos.

In addition to her parents, Angelita was preceded in death by her siblings, Maria, Longina, Caledonia, Mafimino, Paula and Santos; her husband, Joe G. Salinas; her children, Joe R. Salinas, Jr., Guadalupe Salinas, Roberto Salinas, Maria Nieves Salinas, Albert Salinas; granddaughter, Veronica Soto; and grandson, Roberto Villarreal, Jr.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Mary Alice Salinas Campos (Mario), and Elia Villarreal (Joe); 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a great cook. Everyone in the neighborhood always stopped by to eat her delicious homemade tortillas, rice and beans. She made the best tamales in town. People would order up to 50 dozen at a time.

She carried her cross with dignity and grace to the very end.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 1:00 – 2:00pm Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers for Angelita will be Armando Villarreal, Mario A. Campos, Jr., Albert Salinas, Jr., Robert Mejia, Alejandro Mejia, and Anthony Canales.
