Andrew F. McGinty, 85, journeyed into the arms of his Lord on December 2, 2010 in the presence of his loving family. He was born October 26, 1925 in Smackover, Arkansas to the late William Harrison McGinty & Myrtle Tipton McGinty.

He served in the United States Navy as a Seaman Second Class from August 11, 1943 to May 17, 1946 and was very proud to have served his country. In 1986 he retired after 32 years as an Operator for Texaco.

Andrew "loved the Lord with all his heart, soul and strength" (Deuteronomy 6:5). He was a member of the Family Worship Center where he had served as a Deacon for many years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather and will be missed greatly.

He and his wife of 63 years, Freda Mae Wheeler, were married in Longview, TX in 1947. They were blessed with one son and two daughters.

His son William Dale McGinty, sisters Fayela (infant), Melba Taylor & Edith Clark, brothers Lonnie, Robert (R. J.) & Wallace (W. C.) all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Freda of Bay City; daughters & sons-in-law Pam & Berny Schneider of Bay City & Linda & Randy Kelley of El Maton; grandchildren Andrea, Nathan, Andrew, Mikey, Chris & Jonathan; great grandchildren Madison, Sophia, Ethan, Haylee, Nick, Ryan, Kayson, Riley, Landon, Emilee, Jacob, Cole & Kirra; sister Wanda Pierce of Kilgore; brother Charlie of Tyler & numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral service will be 9:00 AM Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at the Family Worship Center with Rev. James Guerrero officiating. Burial will be 4:00 PM Saturday at Kilgore Memorial Gardens in Kilgore, TX with his nephew Rev. Ricky Pierce officiating. Pallbearers will be Andrew Woodson, Mikey Woodson, Chris Schneider, Jonathan Schneider & Nathan McGinty. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
