Amelia Treviño, 81, of Bay City passed away January 23, 2014. She was born August 17, 1932 in Edna, TX to the late Manuel & Victoria Treviño Figueroa. Amelia was a longtime resident of Bay City, and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was best known for her strong work ethic, generous heart, and tireless giving to others while she did without. Amelia was a devoted wife of 60 years to husband Tony Treviño, and also a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Antonio "Tony" Treviño; 2 daughters: Rachel Treviño-Garcia and Mary Helen Martinez; son: Steve Raul Treviño; 7 grand children; and 5 great grandchildren. Amelia was preceded in death by her parents; son: Tony Herrera Treviño; sister: Luisa Alfaro; and 4 brothers: Andrew, Manuel, Pete, & Tony Figueroa.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, January 27, 2014 at the funeral home with a rosary being held at 6:30 PM. The mass will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerry Cernoch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
