PALACIOS -- Alma Frances Milam, age 72, passed away Friday, October 24, 2008. She was born November 7, 1935 in Kaufman, Texas to the late Roy D. and Annie Chamblee. She retired from Dresser-Rand Industry, Houston, TX. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Palacios and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star #380.

She is survived by her husband, James R. Milam, Sr. of Palacios; sons, Alton Smith & wife Kim, David Smith & wife Sharron, all of Houston; stepson, Ricky Milam & wife Penny; step-daughter, Becky Garcia & husband Pat, all of Palacios. Sisters, Lorraine Smith, Faye Bates & husband Vernon, Ethel Kunefke; sister-in-law, Wanda Chamblee, all of Palacios; Margaret Cleveland and Shirley Griffith and husband Ervin of Victoria. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy Alton "Buddy" Smith; brothers, Roy D. and Freddie Wayne Chamblee; sisters, Evelyn Taylor, Mary Alice, Wanda and Joyce Chamblee.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the Palacios Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church of Palacios with Revs. Andy and Janell Blair officiating. Burial will follow at the Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Homer Brown, Mark Bates, Pat Garcia, Brad Scott, Bobby Ray Kunefke, Charles Eikenberg, Michael Griffith and John Toellner. Honorary Pallbearers will be: L.J. Brister, Homer Aparcio and her Grandchildren.
