Kathleen "Kathy" Caldwell was born to Olen Ray and Alma Ruth Conley Smith, Sr., in Wannette, Potawatomi, Oklahoma on a farm May 6, 1921. She died April 10, 2008 at Matagorda Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband Amos "Lefty" Caldwell, sons Gene & Ronald, sister Connie Sutherland & brothers O. R. & Leon Smith. Survivors include her daughter Kaye Vaughan & husband Watts of Bay City; granddaughters Michelle Neckstad & husband Brian of Augusta, Montana & Wendy Weeks of Bay City and by many nieces & nephews in Oklahoma, Texas & Louisiana.
She worked for many years as a sales person at Taylor-Steves Furniture Store and in later years, was a Pink Lady at Matagorda General Hospital. Calvary Baptist Church was her church and was missed when her health kept her from attending.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 14, 2008 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery.
