Allen Ray Crow, 71, of Bay City, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 in Wharton, TX. He was born September 12, 1935 in Port Lavaca, TX to Martin Luford Crow and Alma Leona Ray Crow. He was a lifelong resident of Bay City and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He retired as an Engineer after 30 years of service with the Texas Dept. of Highways and Public Transportation. He also owned and operated the Party Time Liquor Store in Bay City and worked for 4 years in the Jail Division of Matagorda County Sheriff's Dept.
Family was the most important thing to Allen Ray. He loved his girls and especially his grandchildren. Alli and Logan were the light of his life. He liked to play golf and dominoes, casino trips to Vegas and Louisiana, fishing, and generally having fun. He will be missed by his family and friends greatly.
He is survived by his wife: Sue G. Crow of Bay City; his daughters: Karen Meier and husband Keith of Katy, Kimberly Ford and husband Larry of Bay City; his sisters: Valerie Ryman and Jo Ann Crow of Bay City; grandchildren: Alli Kate Ford and Logan Ford of Bay City; his uncles: Randle Crow of Conroe and Johnny Crow of Paradise, CA. He is also survived by his step-brother: Roger Legg; step-grandchildren: Jana and Jessica Ford; and by 4 nieces and nephews: Duane Ryman, Carla Cox, Larry Green and David Green.
The family will receive visitors from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday and Taylor Bros. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Mutz and Dr. Michael Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Duane Ryman, Jeremy Ryman, Jarred Saizan, Lee Cox, David Green and Larry Green.
