Alicia A. Pequeno, 76 of Palacios, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2006, in Houston, TX. She was born July 7, 1930 in Falfurrias, TX to Pedro Ayarzagoitia and Jovita Nevarez Ayarzagoitia. She was a resident of Palacios since 1943, retired as a seafood processor from Dumas Seafood in Palacios, and was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Palacios.She gave help to everyone that came to her and supported them.

She is survived by her daughter: Lisa Gomez & husband Guadalupe of Wharton; her mother: Jovita Martinez of Edcouch; a step-son: Julio G. Pequeno of San Benito; by her sisters: Imelda Cedillo and Gloria Perez of Surprise, AZ, Bertha Perez of MS, and Rosalinda Ramos of La Villa; by a half-brother: Pedro Ayarzagoitia of Houston; and by 6 grandchildren: Ruben, Gabriella, Aaron, Evelyn, Bethany and Gianna Gomez, all of Wharton. She was preceded in death by her husband: Pedro "Pete" Guerrero Pequeno; her father Pedro Ayarzagoitia; and her brothers: Samuel and Remijio Longoria.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the Palacios Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Palacios with Rev. James R. Nischan officiating. Interment will follow at the Palacios Cemetery in Palacios, TX. Pallbearers will be David Longoria, Ray Becerra, Leo Nevarez, Nayo Nevarez, Remijio Longoria, Serafin Lopez, Ruben Gomez, Gabrielle Gomez, Aaron Gomez, Ricardo Moreno, Luisa Moreno and Joe Jimenez.
