Alfred "Sonne" Garcia, Sr., 74, went to his heavenly home to join his mom, dad, sisters and brother on January 1, 2014. Sonne was born on July 5, 1939 in Palacios to the late Nick and Anita Alvarez Garcia, Sr. Sonne loved his family, especially his grandchildren and he always attended their activities. Sonne was an avid sports fan, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Sonne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Mary Garcia; children, Theresa Dever & husband Larry, Marie Garcia & husband Tony, Alfred Garcia, Jr., Eloy Garcia, Norma Hall; grandchildren, Daryl Hall, Keith Hall, Tre Garcia, Derek Dever, Sadie Richter, Kelly Dever, Anthony Garcia, Brendan Garcia, Drake Garcia, Christopher Garcia, Adrianna Garcia, Mark Hall, Brody Garcia; great grandchildren, Bailee Garcia, Adam Hall, Ethan Hall; brothers, Albert Garcia, Lee Garcia, Nick Garcia, Johnny Garcia, Tony Garcia, Bobby Garcia, Lawrence Garcia; sisters, Mary Ann Garcia, and Becky Torres. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Garcia, sister Vivian Carrillo. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 4, 2014 with Fr. Bryan Heyer celebrant. Rite of committal will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM Friday with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
