Alexander "Cando" Jimenez, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 3, 2014. Alex was born on August 15, 1930 in Cuero, Texas to the late Jose and Felecitas Muniz Jimenez, Sr. Alex was an avid hunter and fisherman. Alex was a loving father and grandfather. Alex proudly served his country during the Korean War in the Marine Corps. Alex proudly owned Alex's Electric Service, a successful business for over 30 years. Alex was a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Alex is survived by his loving family, children; Yolanda Garcia of Cypress, Texas, Alex Jimenez Jr. of Bay City, Texas, Clara Aguilar & husband Johnny of Bryan, Texas, Andrew Jimenez Sr. & wife Joann of Bay City, Texas, and Anthony Jimenez & wife Betty of Van Vleck, Texas; grandchildren, Elisia Dement, Lena Reyes, Lori Garcia, Alex Jimenez lll, Joshua Aguilar, Jacob Torres, and Jared Aguilar, Andrew Jimenez, Jr. Adrian-Drew Jimenez, Justin Rodriguez, Priscilla Jimenez, Selena Jimenez; 9 great-grandchildren; brother Eshmoel "Mayo" Jimenez & wife Rose. Alex is survived by brother-in-law Librado "Lee" Rodriguez. Alex is preceded in death by his parents, wife Olivia Jimenez, sister Anita Charles.
Visitation will be from 3-8;00P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Gerry Cernoch celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are Alex Jimenez lll, Andrew Jimenez, Jr. Joshua Aguilar, Jared Aguilar, Adrian-Drew Jimenez, Jacob Torres and Justin Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers are Jackson Dement, Matthew Reyes, Jordan Salazar. The family would like to thank Houston Hospice and Shana Skutca. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Houston Hospice.
