Alejo Gonzalez III, 84, of Bay City, Texas, passed away Friday April 18, 2025. He was born May 20, 1940, in Laredo Texas to Dolores and Alejo Gonzalez II.

Alejo served in the United States Navy and Army. He then went to work at Matagorda Regional Medical Center for many years. When Alejo wasn't working, you could find him riding around in his truck, going to run errands or joking around with family and friends.

Alejo was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alejo Gonzalez IV; sisters, Molly Martinez, Tere Peña; brothers, Luis Gonzalez, and Juan Gonzalez; son-in-law, Eddie Rodriguez; great-grandson; Angelo Rodriguez. He is survived by his loving wife, Janie S. Gonzalez; sisters, Armendina Martinez, Yolanda Venegas, Margie (Joe) Villarreal, and Alicia Martinez; brother, Jesse Gonzalez; children, John Gonzalez, Dolores Gonzalez, Antonio Gonzalez, Jonathan Gonzalez, Becky Rodriguez, Chris Cuellar, Toni (David) Weaver, Romeo Rodriguez and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 9:00am-10:00am on Thursday, April 24th, 2025, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary being recited at 9:30am. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am with Deacon Joe Ramos officiating. Interment will follow at Port Lavaca Cemetery in Port Lavaca, Tx. Pallbearers for Alejo will be Romeo Rodriguez, Gerardo Muniz, Ignacio Cantu, David Weaver, Anthony Rodriguez, and Juan Mirelez

Honorary pallbearers are Jose Lopez and Chris Cuellar.
