Albion Henry Ewton, a great man and a proud Marine, departed this life at the age of 92 years on April 24, 2016. Mr. Ewton was born March 19, 1924 in Mobile, Alabama where he was raised with great love by Jim and Alyce Kane. Mr. Ewton was preceded in death by his two sisters, Pat and Peggy. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, June Ewton; their 4 children, Albion "Al" Ewton, III, Madelyn Ferina, Jane Beyer, and Theresa Huebner; his seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and innumerable friends and loved ones.
He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps on Tulagi and Guadalcanal during WWII. His commitment to his country and community continued throughout his lifetime. He was an active member of the Phillip H. Parker VFW Post #2438 in Bay City, Texas for many years where he served several terms as Post Commander.
Visitation will be at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City, Texas on April 27, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home on April 28, 2016 at 10:00am with Rev. Bill Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tim Hooten, Matthew Huebner, James Maxwell Ewton, Ryan Ewton, Corey Ferina and Christopher Ferina. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Thames, S.T. Edison, Ed Miller and Will Greer.
