Ada Ruth Cole, 80, of Bay City passed away Sunday, January 10th, 2016. She was born January 15, 1935 in Tulare, California, to the late William Ariel and Emma Mae Bell West. Ada married the love of her life Rosser Moody Cole, and they spent many wonderful years together.

She is survived by her husband, Rosser Cole; daughters, Mona Davenport of Hallettsville and Janie Flemming and husband, Richard, of Bay City; Mr. Cole's sons, David, Allen, and Raymond of Bay City and Roy of Houston; sister, Mary Lou Gieser of Luling; four grandchildren, Amy Amsden and Jess Davenport of Hallettsville, Courtney DeWitt of Montgomery, and Chance Cartwright of Round Rock; nine great-grandchildren, Preston, Ella, Jack and Wade Amsden of Hallettsville, Emma, Juliet, and Jake Davenport of Hallettsville, River and Rosser DeWitt of Montgomery, and Rayne Cartwright due in April; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews that she thought of as her own.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from 5 to 7 PM at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday, January 14, 2016, 11:00 AM at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Lane Pardue officiating. Interment will be at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
Pallbearers include Jess Davenport, Chance Cartwright, Brian Amsden, Urban Seay, Roy Cole and Keith Cole. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Flemming, Dean Kubecka, Clint Cole, Casey Dewitt and her great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hallettsville Independent School District Education Foundation or For the Love of Animals, Matagorda County.
