Georgia Cole

Georgia “Jo” Cole, 90, was born in Ontario, California to the late John and Charlotte Laura Coleman on March 29, 1922. She passed away peacefully n Friday, August 3, 2012 in Bay City, Texas.

Georgia was raised in California and after high school attended Chaffey College until the war broke out. Her love of education and learning earned her many outstanding awards and honors including President of her school’s National Honor Society.

She met her husband, a military serviceman, W. L. “Waddie” Cole in 1943. They lived in Ontario for 2 years before moving to his hometown of Bay City, Texas. Georgia and Waddie established Cole Plumbing Company in 1950. Their business increased and along with residential work, they added commercial work and included plumbing, heating and Air conditioning. In early 1960, they moved their company to the present location where in continues to thrive.

George was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bay City. She let her love for Jesus guide her life, and was devoted to her Lord. Her compassion and kindness were some of her greatest gifts to the world. She spent much time helping the underprivileged and saved the lives of many homeless animals. She also devoted her life to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, her parents and brothers Bob, Clyde and bill Coleman. She is survived by daughters Terri Striebeck and husband Scotty, Dianne Rooth and husband Richard, grandchildren Jake Striebeck, Laura Striebeck, Jeremy Rooth and Jeffery Rooth, numerous nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and loving friends.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 1:30 pm until 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 Am Monday, August 6, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mark Staub officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Javier Rodriguez, Jr., Urbano Rodriguez, Randy Cole, Raymond Cole, Chad Ashcraft and Roland Spurr.
