U. S. “Chuck” McMillan formerly of Tin Top, TX passed away June 7, 2012. He was born January 7, 1922 in El Campo, TX to the late Urban Sumner McMillan and Clara Dell Stapleton McMillan. He graduated from El Campo High School and was married to Flora Isaacson McMillan for 59 years until her death in 2002. He was owner of The McMillan Cotton Gin and Modern Crop Chemicals. He was a WWII Veteran, an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and R.V.’ing. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Collegeport and served on the church board for many years. He was also a member of Collegeport Volunteer Fire Dept., American Legion Post #649 and a charter member of Ricebelt Sams Travel Club.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Stanley & Marolyn McMillan, Jr. of Louise, Virginia & Ben Stanley of Seymour and Nancy & Lee Richey of Victoria; six granddaughters Robin Thonsgaard, Lori Baca, Lea Abigail Roberts, Julia Blaylock, Marcy Nelson and Amanda McLain; 15 great grandchildren and brother Waymon McMillan of Mackey, TX. In addition to his parents and wife, his sister Dawn Benson and great granddaughter Jolee Baca preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 3pm until 5:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 11, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Blair officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Thonsgaard, Steven Baca, Victor Corporon, G. W. Franzen, Derrill Franzen and Joe Jenkins. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church; PO Box 75; Collegeport, TX 77428.
